M City Dental Clinic is proud to participate in the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP). Our experienced team provides compassionate dental care to refugees and protected persons from all over Ontario. We understand the unique needs of newcomers to Canada and are committed to making quality dental care accessible to all IFHP beneficiaries.

What's Covered Under IFHP?

IFHP provides coverage for emergency dental care to address conditions involving pain, infection, or trauma:

  • General & Emergency Dental Examinations: Assessment of urgent dental issues

  • Diagnostic X-rays: To identify the cause of dental problems

  • Tooth Extractions: For severely damaged, infected teeth or wisdom teeth extraction

  • Pain Management: Including treatments for pain-control, trauma and caries

  • Basic Restorative Services: To repair damaged teeth

  • Antibiotic Prescriptions: For dental infections

  • Oral Surgery: For emergency surgical extractions

  • Prosthetics: Reline and fabrication of new and old dentures

  • Dental Services for Children: Covered dependents of IFHP beneficiaries receive essential dental care

Note: Some services may require pre-approval from the IFHP administrator. Our staff will guide you through this process if needed.

  • Resettled Refugees: Individuals with government or private sponsorship

  • Protected Persons: Those who have been determined to be persons in need of protection

  • Refugee Claimants: Individuals awaiting determination of refugee status

  • Victims of Human Trafficking: Individuals with a temporary resident permit

  • Detainees: Under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act

  • Dependents: Family members of the above groups, including children

Do You Qualify for IFHP?

The Interim Federal Health Program provides coverage to these eligible groups:

1. How do I make an appointment as an IFHP patient?
Call our office at 647-368-8779 and mention that you have IFHP coverage. Our staff will help schedule your appointment and explain what documentation to bring.

2. What documents do I need to bring to my appointment?
Please bring your IFHP certificate indicating your UCI number, government-issued photo ID, and any referral documentation (if applicable). This helps us verify your coverage.

3. Are routine dental cleanings covered under IFHP?
IFHP primarily covers emergency and general restorative dental care. Routine cleanings may not be covered unless related to an emergency condition. However, at M City Dental you first cleaning is free of charge. Our team will explain which services are covered in your specific situation.

4. What if I need dental treatment that isn't covered by IFHP?
For services not covered by IFHP, we offer affordable payment plans and our special new patient promotion. We'll always discuss costs with you before any treatment.

5. Is my child covered under IFHP if I am covered?
Yes, children of IFHP beneficiaries are typically covered for essential dental services. We welcome pediatric patients and provide child-friendly dental care to make visits comfortable for young patients.
